Your Questions About Stop Being Jealous Girlfriends Male Friends

Maria asks…

Question for all the guys do you get Mad or jealous if your girlfriend has alot of Male friends??

My Girlfriend Has alot of guy friends, more guy friends then Girlfriends actually, and to be honest I kinda don’t like it. I sometimes get Jealous or insecure about the matter or sometimes thoughts come in my head that probably shouldn’t, I was wondering is it natural to get mad and feel a little jealousy about that, and if it isn’t what can I do to stop feeling this way and stop with these thoughts?

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Ok let me give u my opinion as a girl who has a lot of male friends. The thing is you have nothing to worry about. I hang around with guys not because i like the attention or because they’re flirty, but because they are so much better than female friends. Women are mean and judgmental. I can always count on my friends… They don’t gossip about me, don’t tell fake rumors (like some female friends did). And besides… They can kick serious a*s if somebody hurts me :P
nut think about this: there is a reason why she’s ur gf and not theirs. So don t be jealous cause you have no ground and it will make her angry. Love her and be happy :D

Sharon asks…

How do I stop being JeaLous?

All my previous reLationships end the same – I push them away. However, my current boyfriend & I have outlasted this SO FAR anyways :) . We met through a mutual friend at a Local bar. I paid him no attention that night as to not disrespect his girlfriend, that he had brought along with him. But the next few weeks our friend kept taLking him up to me &trying to get us together. Now we have been together for 5months and jeaLousy is beginning to be a probLem. Unfortunately, I show my jealousy in the form of rage.

Couple examples:
1. I can text male friends and x’s All day Long; but the minute he texts a femaLe I go off. Ask a whoLe bunch of questions, start scenarios, and lose all interest in what we were previously doing.
2. He drove me to class one day &stared at EVERY singLe girL that waLked on the campus in view of the car. I was so irritated that I deLibrateLy turned all the way around to Look at a man waLking past. He watched me so hard that he aLmost hit a girL in the crosswaLk :(
3. He’s going home for Christmas & I tell him he’s going to spend time with all his hometown hoes and I bring this conversation up daiLy

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can overcome my JeaLous ways?

Stop Being Jealous answers:

I had that problem. Just think the opposite way. Jealousy is basically being selfish and not wanting to share. If he wants to cheat then dump him.

Linda asks…

Should I be jealous because my girlfriend goes out with her male friends?

Me and by girlfriend have been in a relationship for about 8 months now. From the beginning it was obvious that the majority of her friends are guys. I know for a fact she slept with 2 of her “friends” and was dating one just prior to getting with me. I know what they want from her and she knows what they want from her and one stopped talking to her because he wasnt getting that. But she felt bad their friendship ended like that and reconnected with him. My biggest problem is that when the semester is over she goes back to her hometown and goes out with 3 or 4 guys individually on what I call dates but she considers hanging out. Ive told her about this and how it bothers me but she makes me feel like im crazy because they are just her friends and she can see the good in them besides the fact that want to have sex with her. She says she loves me but doesnt feel like she should have to give up her friends to be with me. Should I be jealous?

Stop Being Jealous answers:

If I were her, and I really cared about you, then knowing that I had slept with two of my “friends” and dated one right before you, I would CERTAINLY not be going out with them, ESPECIALLY not without you. Thats asking for trouble. And whats this bull crap about going out with guys individually??? I don’t care who you are or how long you’ve been in a relationship, you just DON’T do that….

I’m not trying to be mean here, but you told her how you felt, and you are correct, ANY man would feel this way, and you know damn good and well that any girl would be so jealous if the situation were turned around that she would loudly voice her opinion, I know I would.

Look, just to be flat out honest, it sounds like your girlfriend is not only an attention whore, but a flat out whore at that. That’s my honest, outsider’s opinion. If I were you, I would end that relationship because honestly, if she cared, she would do everything within her power to prove to you that nothing is going on, even if that means cutting her “friends” out of the picture……theres going to be nothing for you in a future with her except heartbreak…and possibly STD’s

Donna asks…

My girlfriends male friend likes her?

And they talk everyday and it’s really stressing me out. I think I’m acting pretty jealous but sometimes they talk more than we do. How can I stop this from getting to me? Is she wrong or am I wrong?

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Gosh that sucks :/
I’d talk to her about it and be honest with her.
Say something like:
“Hey, I’m not trying to be controlling or jealous, but to be honest you talking to _____ all the time, sometimes more than talking to me, is starting to get to me.”

and if you KNOW FOR A FACT that he likes her as more than friends and they aren’t just like good friends or something, maybe include:
“And I know that he likes you as more than a friend and I’m getting worried since you’ve been talking/spending more time with him, that you are starting to like him as more than friends back”

or something along those lines. Just be open and honest with her, but don’t sound like the jealous controlling boyfriend.

Hope that helps :)

John asks…

im jealous! how do i stop it?

okay lately ive been jealous of people who are in relationships. This is because i feel like theyre living a more complete life. In particular im jealous of people who are constantly in a relationship from one relationship to another. I have a few female friends but no male friends which pisses me of sometimes because you can talk stuff with guys u cant talk with girls. So all in all i want a girlfriend who im attracted too and friends but im always anxious about approaching some people and asking them to date me or be mates with. Cause i fear rejection and thinking it wuld be public. and im not very trusting ever since i got majorly fuked over by a friend bak when i was 13/14. so how do i fix this. or how can i stop being jealous. Cuase i know some of the people im jealous of are flawed alcoholics, drug users, ugly etc but i still feel like there life is better even though i have no drama in my life at all for the past few years.

Your Questions About How To Stop Being Jealous Of My Boyfriend’s Ex-girlfriend

Carol asks…

Please give me advice on how to stop being jealous of my boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend?

My boyfriend and I have been going out for 1 year 2 months. He is my first boyfriend, but he’s had girlfriends before me. He tells me that I am the first girl he has ever truly been in love with. I doubted him at first, but I trust him now. I feel his love.

His previous relationship lasted almost 2 years. That was his longest relationship. He had problems with that girl and knew he didn’t love her, so he ended it. He ended it partly because he knew he was in love with me, and he said it didn’t “feel right” to be with his ex while he was in love with someone else.

I’m kinda jealous of his ex – jealous that they have been together longer than we have so far and also, I just feel like she’s “cooler” or has more friends, etc…

Please give me advice on how to get over it?

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Did he not dump his girl of two years to date you?? Why should you be jealous? He obviously wants you.

Richard asks…

Jealous of boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend…what should I do?

My boyfriend is 22 y.o and he dated his previous girlfriend for 1.5 years. He met her for 3 days and they had a long distance relationship. He was in Ohio and she was in California. They had sex. She’s met his parents and he’s met her parents. He’s met all of her friends. He broke up with her last December. I’ve known him since May 2010. He told me he was falling for me fall of 2010, when he was still dating his previous girlfriend. He told me he was obsessed with me during the Spring and wouldn’t stop texting me and Facebook messaging me until he finally asked me out in July. I found out he’s going to the same grad school in California as his ex :( but he told me he didn’t apply for her, and actually applied after they broke up.
He said to not compare myself to his ex, that there is no comparison and that I’m so much better than her. He said he wasn’t even attracted to her while he is so attracted to me. We’ve only dated for 5 months and he has already told me he wants to marry me. He said he never wanted to marry his ex girlfriend, and he wasn’t serious about her.
But if he wasn’t serious about her then why did he date her for so long? He said his previous relationship was childish, immature, and puppy love. He said she had an unrealistic view of what love is and that everything had to be perfect.
He tells me all the time how much he’s in love with me but it’s so hard for me because he’s my first boyfriend and I can’t get over how long his previous relationship lasted and how it was only last November that they broke up.

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Hi Veronica,
I sense, from your description, that you have some misgivings about your relationship. The fact that it’s your first boyfriend is worth keeping in mind. You don’t have other relationships against which to compare what’s been going on with this one. I think you’d be wise to slow things down and, if you continue seeing this guy, keep it more casual and light. I’d say there are some red flags in your narrative. This guy’s frenetic texting/messaging isn’t a good sign. His asking you to marry him after a mere 5 months isn’t a good thing. And his comments about his ex don’t ring true. You may be a rebound woman for this guy. Ironically, his coming on so strong should be a warning to you. Research into successful relationships/marriages suggests that an optimal amount of time to take from first meeting to marriage is about 3 years. Substantially less or more time then that is correlated with a higher marriage failure rate. And a 1 year engagement prior to marriage as part of that 3 years is also optimal. I’m not suggesting that as a hard & fast rule for you but merely to give you some perspective on how quickly things are going in your case. You might actually do well to back out of the relationship and date casually for a while. The average age at first marriage is 29 for guys and 27 for women. I’m just saying… Regards.

Maria asks…

what do you do if your boyfriend’s ex girlfriend won’t stop hitting on him? >:[?

so there’s this girl who my boyfriend used to go out with.
earlier this year he asked her out again, (which makes it even worse!), but she said no.. which was good. but THEN,

yesterday, he told me that she had been texting him, and she told him that she “hates” me, and is jealous of me… and she was really hitting on him, and she told him he was cute and whatnot.

he told me about it, which was the right thing to do, and he told me that he has no feelings for her whatsoever. but i was really mad, and he saw that, so he texted her and told her that he was sorry, but could she please not talk to him anymore?
she texted back asking why, and he told her. she admitted to liking him, etc… UGH.

and i know this is probably stupid, but i’m SO SCARED she’s going to do something to try to take him from me. i talked to him about it, and he said he understands, and is going to do more to make her stay away.
so yeah.
i know i sound stupid. :/
but how do i stop worrying about this? it’s making me so upset…
:’[
and ALSO… if not her, there’s SO MANY other girls that like him. i know he really likes me, but… i just really want all of them to leave us alone! ughhhhhhhhhh.

thanks.

Stop Being Jealous answers:

You need to become secure in yourself and what you have to offer. There’s a reason he chose you and not anyone else. Know that and be confident. He did not only the right thing by telling you, but he continued to do so by telling her to go. You seem to have nothing to worry about. Stop being so insecure and enjoy your relationship. The more insecure you become the more you’ll drive him away and into the arms of someone more confident and secure.

Lisa asks…

Can’t stop thinking about my boyfriend’s EX girlfriend? Please Help?

I’ve been in a relationship with this incredible guy for about 5 months. Everything has been going great, but he’s older than me and has had a few women before me. Me on the other hand, he was the first.

I can’t stop thinking about his EX gf, who was also a virgin when he first met and they stayed together for almost 2 years. The idea of it makes me so sick. I’ve gotten to the point I’ve already imagined them having sex and that made me sick to my stomach.

We have such a great relationship, we can talk about everything so he has told me a lot of things about his ex and it’s like my mind gathered all the little details and I can’t stop obsessing over her.

No matter how many times he says he loves, that he never loved her, it still doesn’t get through to me. I still obsess over her and suffer. He knows I’m a little jealous, but I dont tell him most of the horrible thoughts in my head.

Please help, this is making me sick, it’s killing me

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Some things you’ve just got to let go hunny!

I’ve done the same thing.. I use to compare my boyfriends exes to me.. ESPECIALLY with looks.. Or them being his ‘firsts’.. Ect! It did the same to me..

You’ve got to come to a point where you realize he is with YOU now for a reason! He chose you over them for a reason! And that is incredible! :)

Be thankful they were his past; but you are his future! :)

Chris asks…

jealous ex-girlfriend?

My boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend is causing tons of problems for me right now. She sends me hate mail, she creates rumors about me and gets people to stop being my friends, and she is trying to break us up. She tells people that she can’t stand to see me smile because she feels like I’m mocking her, and she can’t stand to hear my laugh because it’s too annoying. ( We go to the same church so I see her all the time. ) I think she is causing so much drama because she’s jealous that she no longer has his attention, but she tells people she’s not. What do you think? Is she jealous? How can I deal with this situation?

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Ignore her. Seriously.

Much like forum trolls, people like this feed off of any attention you give them. They’re like evil fairies. Eventually, everyone else will get tired of her act, too.

Your Questions About How To Stop Being Jealous Of My Girlfriend

Paul asks…

How can I stop being jealous of my girlfriend?

Ok, I know this question has been asked a million times, but I need to ask it again. My girlfriend and my best friend hang out all the time. I’m usually not a jealous person, but I get so jealous over this. They’ll go to the park by themselves and go out to eat lunch by themselves, and it drives me crazy. I trust her, and if she was with anyone else I’d be fine, it’s just that they go out so much it’s really beginning to hurt, no matter how much I trust them. Besides that, our relationship is great, but I need help. I don’t want to be jealous anymore.

Stop Being Jealous answers:

I’m not a jealous person either, but I would not be comfortable with my boyfriend going off with some other girl all the time. I mean we are all human and if you put yourself in a situation over and over, human nature is going to take over. Maybe you should take to her about this. Tell her that it bothers you and ask her to put herself in your shoes… How would she feel if you did those things with another girl? I know she would have to agree that it would hurt her feelings too. I would also say that it is a little disrespectful of Your best friend to be going off alone all the time with Your girlfriend. I would never do that to a friend of mine… Would you? He is a MALE, you KNOW the things that has, at least crossed his mind. I wish I had something more positive to tell you, but thats just the way I feel.

Helen asks…

how do i stop being jealous of my girlfriend?

I cant seem to tell myself that nothings going on between my girlfriend and another boy. This is not any specific person, just other boys in general. If i see her talking or laughing with another boy on a Saturday night, i become very jealous and want to know what they are talking about.
I’ve made my girlfriend the only girl in my life and i love her so much. I’m always afraid that she enjoys the attention of other boys so much that she’ll finish it with me.
help me out, I’m making myself paranoid!
thanks guys

Stop Being Jealous answers:

I’d say it’s natural–even healthy–to be a little jealous but extreme jealously can be a recipe for disaster. It shouldn’t be a problem that your girlfriend talk to other boys–she deserved that freedom to do so without having to upset you. Almost all relationships failed simply because of distrust, and this jealously thing is definitely a beginning of you not trusting the love of your life.

The good news is you’re AWARE that you’re jealous, which mean you can prevent it from getting worst. Don’t let your emotions get the best of you just because you see her hanging out with another boy. Secondly, hon, DON’T make this girl the only girl in your life. What I mean is this make you too dependent on her, even though you loves her.

What you need to do is be more social with other girls, go rent some romantic comedy movies just so you can laugh (laughing is a great way to get rid of that bad jealous feeling), and do take medicating exercise, like yoga or simply eat healthier. Even eating junk food can fuels your jealously.

Here is an article that can help you get rid of your jealously. You should read it and I hope you get better. I think you will :)

Charles asks…

How can I stop being the jealous type with my girlfriend?

I get really jealous when she talks to other guys because I notice that a lot of guys hit on her and try flirting with her. Also, I am bothered 24/7 by the idea of being cheated on. Any advice would help. Thanks

Stop Being Jealous answers:

You have to address your deeper trust issues before you can stop being a jealous boyfriend.

If she is with you, she wants to be with you. If she has other guys hitting on her it’s clear that she has other options if she wanted to get a new guy. She doesn’t need to cheat, she could just get a new boyfriend. Since she isn’t doing that, don’t worry about it.

Besides, take it as a compliment. Guys hitting on your girl means she’s hot.

And remember, not much is worse than the jealous boyfriend, don’t drive her away because you’re insecure.

Sandy asks…

How can i stop being so jealous of my girlfriend, and make her be more interested in me?

How Can I Stop Being Jealous Of My Girlfriend When She Talks To Her Guys Friends Or Guys. Give Me Your Opinion?

my girlfriend is so pretty and i know she can attract any guy by her appearance and i always get jealous of who she talks to how can i stop myself of me not getting mad/jealous
my girlfriend is so pr etty and i know she can attract any guy by her appearance and i always get jealous of who she talks to how can i stop myself of me not getting mad/jealous…..even if i know the guy i still get jealous i mean i trust her but i dnt just them cuz tend to flirt without the girl noticing and boyfriends such as me tend to know when there flirting so its not her its the guys

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Jealousy is a perfectly normal reaction, but to help her are a few pointers.

1) trust in your trust in her
2) get to know the people she is talking to, being friends with her friends will help you feel more comfortable
3) be open and honest with her about your feelings
4) occasionally (not compulsively) ask her about her conversations

Your Questions About Jealous Over Girlfriends Past

George asks…

Jealous over my girlfriend’s not-so past.?

So I’ve met this wonderful girl who I’ve learned to love and want to have a future with her.
I am not very old, 15, and she is a few months older than me, 16.
Well let me go back, I started talking to her mid-february and we would have very open talks and I eventually leaned she was a virgin.
I, also a virgin, think to myself “She’s perfect in every way, I know she’s the one”, so I ask her out on march 28th.

A week into the relationship and she tells me she lost her virginity to an ex-boyfriend who was currently going out with someone else, a matter of one week before I asked her out.
She says she had NO IDEA I was interested in her, even though I even told her I was by flirting and saying cute things like I was going to kiss her when she wasn’t expecting it.
My blood is seriously f***ing boiling typing this out so I’ll try and cut this short.

I can’t get over that she did that a week before I asked her out, if it was two or three months before or if she didn’t even tell me I would be fine.
It is now mid august and I know I want to spend the rest of my life with her, it may seem like young love but we have something different.

I just want anything that will help me get over that.
Oh, forgot to say, we have much sex now, i’m not a virgin anymore. Still jealous of her virginity being taken away by someone else.
Is there always going to be something I resent about her for not waiting for me?
To lance08
I know that if this relationship doesn’t work out, by the time I’m ready for another there’s a fat chance that she wouldn’t be a virgin.
I’m fine with girls not being virgins when I date them, but not losing their virginity to someone a week before committing to me.

Jenny asks…

Jealous over fiance’s past sex life–Need advice!!!?

About a year ago I got engaged to my long term boyfriend of 4 years. When I met him I was a virgin, and I gave him my virginity. But something that always bothers me till this day is that he was not a virgin when I met him, and he was with a couple of girls before me. I am so jealous of this that if I think about it I get a twisted feeling in my gut. His “friends” filled me in on some of his past sexual details..like for instance I was told that he got head from his ex girlfriend in the backseat of his buddy’s car…and its stuff like that, that gives me visuals in my head and drives me crazy. Not to mention both of his ex girlfriends were really slutty and hooked up with alot of guys before him. Sometimes I get so mad that I yell at him that he’s going to give me an std from his past experiences…even though they happend years ago before he met me. And on top of that a few of his exgirlfriends are so mean that they actually would rub it in my face that they had sex with him first just because they were mad at me. It just sucks knowing he hooked up with these girls and I saved myself and gave it to him. I love him with all my heart though. Does anyone have any advice as to how I can get over the fact that he’s been intimate with other women? He gets mad at me whenever I bring up his past because I think he’s ashamed of it. But I need help.

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Every time you start thinking about this, just say to yourself, “then he grew up, and chose me as the One.”

Michael asks…

Do guys become jealous over THIS? PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE answer :) ?

Listen…

So me and a guy had something going on 5 months ago…we had sex, and unfortunately I had to move away to another country to study medicine, so we never continued our relation…we never had any contact since that night…which is weird by the way…

Now that guy has a new girlfriend…and i have to admit that I am jealous

so here is my question:

If I would get a good looking boyfriend soon and he was a doctor, do you think that the guy I used to be with would be jealous? Do guys become jealous over past relationships even if they are in a new one?

THANKS!
*doctor student. NOT doctor :)

Stop Being Jealous answers:

An immature guy might. A real man wouldn’t.

Robert asks…

Do you get jealous of your boyfriend/girlfriend’s past relationships even though you know they’re over them?

And why, and what you do to stop thinking that way?

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Well yes, i just try not to show it. Why? Cuz i care about them, i have feelings and knowing that they were with someone else just sucks and just gets you thinking. Call it insecurity or whatever, but when you like someone, you want to be the best in their eyes.

Linda asks…

I am very jealous over my boyfriend’s past?

I am 19 and finally am dating my first boyfriend. I didn’t really start seeing guys until freshman year of college and they were mostly hookups, and I had sex with only one guy over the summer twice, and it barely even counted because he was an asshole and it was just a very short fling.
Anyway, my boyfriend who I have been dating for over a month now have talked about his ex-girlfriend a few times. He dated her for a year and a half, lost his virginity to her, and they did all kinds of things together. Talking about it really hurt and upset me. I hate imagining doing all of the things she has done with him/for him that I do too. I hate thinking that I’m probably not the first girl he has taken home. We have been progressing sexually and I don’t even want to touch him anymore thinking that she’s been there. I feel absolutely disgusted and although I have feelings for him it’s so intense that I just want to dump him. He says they cut off all communication, I’m prettier, he’s with me now so it doesn’t matter, I’m his only, and blah blah….but it hardly reassures me. I feel disgusted and jealous especially since for me almost everything we do is my first time and it’s probably a lot more special and memorable for me. I hate thinking that he was with another girl for that long and probably genuinely loved her.
Has/Is anyone else in this situation and what can I do?

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Kind of similar situation…but not really.
I understand why youd be jealous but shes an ex for a reason.
Tell him that you dont like talking about his ex and the wonderful things they shared/did together.
I know it sucks to hear it, but he wouldnt like to know all the horny details about your little flingy bloke either.
I dont get why you would ever want to dump him because of these things, and im sure if he wanted to be with his ex, he’d be with her rather than with you. Think yourself lucky, seriously.

Your Questions About Jealous Of My Girlfriends Past

Robert asks…

Is it normal to be jealous of past relationships?

Sometimes my girlfriend makes a passing reference to a past relationship; most of the time it’s something bad they did, but I still feel uneasy knowing that she keeps referencing them. I dont ever mention a past relationship because I dont like hearing about others’ past relationship. I want to ask her to stop but I dont want to be irrational and come off as insecure/jealous/etc. This especially makes me upset if I knew that she was either really emotionally invested (like if she loved him) and/or physically.

Stop Being Jealous answers:

It is normal to be jealous, yes. It is not normal to become irritated about her comments though. Learn from these comments; listen carefully and take notes. She is letting you know her annoyances.

If you really cannot stand the pain, just tell her exactly how it makes you feel. Don’t let yourself get mad to cover what you really feel because it is really insecurity. Sounds squeamish huh! Well, it is the only way to deal with it. Humans deal with the future by hashing their past and realizing the rights and wrongs committed. Essentially, this is what is happening.

Nancy asks…

I can’t get over my girlfriends past.?

I’ve been going out with this girl for almost 3 months now. Now myself, I’ve only had one girlfriend and one partner for about 2 and half years which I broke up before I met her. I only slept with one other person and dated one other person. On the other hand she has been in this dating scene since she was in 7th or 8th grade. She has had plenty of boyfriends and such. She has slept with too many guys (IMO) and performed sexual acts with plenty of other guys. Yes, she has told me stories of her doing this and such. She even brought me around a friend of hers she had a one night stand with and that guy proceeded to slap her ass that night behind my back. When I ask her why she did these things she just replies “What? Did You want me to be a prude or something?”

I just don’t understand it. It’s like when she does talk about it she seems like she loved doing it and has no regrets about any of it. And other times I feel inexperience due to her sexual history. I do get angry and jealous about this, as does she when my ex girlfriend of 2 1/2 years comes up. I’m very confused on what I should do. Am I in the wrong here? I do feel part of it is my fault but I just can’t help but to get angry about it. I feel like I’m just another guy on her list.

Mandy asks…

Girlfriends past?

My girlfriend told me that she has had sex with 9 guys before him. She only had sex when she was ina relationship. I have had sex wtih 3 different girls before her.
My sister told me that girls could always get more guys then guys gettng girls and plus if i brake up with her for this reason then I’m jealous of her getting laid more…
What should I do?
am i being stupied??

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Me personally, girls with a long history are not my cup of tea, other than for sex, but no relationships. A girl that was with 9 dudes before you has a real bad indicator for any real meaningful relationship for you, also listen to a guy, since you are a guy in this issue (see how most answers were by females, and the classical ” don’t look at the past” . Well, that does not work that way for most guys. Plus If it bothers you now, it is going to bother you more in the future if you want to get more serious with her. For your own sanity if you want to take this relationship to the next level, and you don’t want to cheat on her (all guys that I know that had this problem eventually cheated on their gfs/wives, and did justify the cheating on this fact) now if you just want to be with her for a while, and have no plans of going beyond that, then stick with her until you move to your next relationship, but it is really up to you
best luck

Chris asks…

Please help me get over my girlfriends past hookup event with a friend of mine?

allright I won’t lie to you guys I am having little freak outs in my head because my mind can’t get over a “event ” my girlfriend had with a good friend of mine I know this sounds stupid but Its like the only way for me not to get jeualous about this I’s if I don’t care about her, my mind just races off in a jealous spiral because we both are each others first but even with that I am still bothered by the whole thing please if anyone could offer me advice I would really help
No my girlfriend and I dated and broke up and then we moved on and she was going threw a rough time in her life and lost her good morals and dident sleep with him but did things I almost think that he was a rebound but still me and her hadnet got that far and then later on like a few monuths after I went back our with her And we decided that we are ment to be together and so we gave each other our umm V-cards LOL but yeh this ” event still hanunts me

Stop Being Jealous answers:

If she didn’t cheat on you then what’s your beef?

Ok, so the thought of her with your friend is not a pleasant one, but you can also look at it this way – your friend is a good friend for a reason. Your girlfriend obviously has good taste like you. If there is nothing going on between them and your girlfriend gives you no reason to doubt her loyalty to you then move on. She is with you isn’t she? You won.

Lisa asks…

What do I do about my girlfriends past sexual experiences?

One night i did the most stupidest thing to EVER do, i don’t know how we got on the subject, but i asked my girlfriend what kind of things sexually has she done with her ex….to make a long story short she has done ALOT of sexual things already, these are the things i found out already, stuff like sex in public, sex in a pool, role playing, using lube, anal, oral & swallowing…well you know what :( , and even making a sex tape, which really bothers me b/c i can’t do anything about that…she’s tried to ask him to get rid of it but he won’t….moving along now i digress on that. So now this really bothers me b/c i really have fallen for this girl and its really getting serious between the two of us and she feels the same way too, its just that i really wish i didn’t find out all those things now b/c i guess in a way you can look at me as being jealous b/c those were things that i wanted to do/experience with her and at the sametime i’m thinking “ohh maan..DAM! she must of had great sex with her ex” She tells me over and over that things are much better when we have sex rather than how it was with her ex but still, i am still bothered by this and that i want to do something sexual with her as well, but what stuff can i bring to the table now since she has experienced pretty much everything???

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Well what MORE can you do?? Just do the things that you guys normally do and try to do them BETTER… Trust me she doesn’t care about her ex.. I’m sure when she’s with you she doesn’t even care if it was great with him or not.. I’m telling you because sex was good with my ex but it never came to mind to compare my ex with my new bf!!! I dont know i dont think girls do that well at least i didn’t… Just dont think about it so much that’s not good. Plus…. I did tons of this with my ex that i did again with my new bf and it was just more special because i love him!! That’s all that matter how much you guys love each other good luck

Your Questions About Jealous Of My Girlfriends Past

Charles asks…

Should my girlfriends past bother me enough to lead me to brake up with her?

She never had sex but did everything else, with about 5 guys. my past is cleaner than hers, although i have done stuff, but not 3rd. it used to never bother me, until our relationship got serious and we were talking about marriage. then all of a sudden her past started really bothering me and i couldnt stop thinking about it. it made me lose weight and i couldnt sleep, i think it made me feel really uncomfortable, maybe i was just jealous or it was an ego thing, i dont know, but i couldnt handle it, it was taking over, but before all this happened, we were in love and everything was amazing, so i was thinking i should wait it out until things go back to how they were, but its been 5 months and they havent gone back, what should i do?? thanks

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Its hard to find many girls looking for marriage that have been with NO guys. Besides, even if you found a girl that had been with only 3 guys, like you have been girls, you will still feel just as jealous of those 3 as you do to the 5 now. Realize everyone has a past, and it isn’t always perfect. Dont ruin something that is great over something that she can’t change.

Lisa asks…

Im always worried about my girlfriends past. Is this normal?

I have been with my GF for almost 2 years, But in the beginning of the relationship she told me how many people she was with and it really bothers me every day. To look at the girl I love and know that she was with other guys. Im extremly jealous and so is she.

Stop Being Jealous answers:

If you worry about that now then wait till you get older…she probably doesnt think about those guys anymore until you bring them up. Dont make a big deal about it or it will ruin your relationship. The past is the past

Daniel asks…

Jealous of my Girlfriend’s Past?

I’ve been with my girlfriend since Sunday. We’ve been “together” for about 2 weeks, but I officially “asked her out” on Sunday.

I’m extremely jealous of her past boyfriend. I don’t get it. He cheated on her. They had a sexual relationship, and I can’t bear to think about it. I have talked to her about it, and she keeps convincing me that “I’m the one”, and that her ex is worth nothing to her. It makes it worse, that when we were next to each other in College, I looked over to her after working, and saw text on her screen saying “Sending… *Ex’s Name*”. She then immediately went into her Sent box, and deleted it straight away after realizing I noticed her sending this message to her ex. She said to me: “Just deleting my messages, run out of space.” Even though she has a 32GB mobile phone.

I trust her a lot. I trust the fact that she loves me now, and not her ex. I just can’t help but think about the fact she had a relationship, probably really good, before me. And, the other thing is, is that her past relationship was sexual. We haven’t had sex yet, but I can’t help but be jealous that some other guy has been “in” her before me. It’s tearing me apart, and will probably ruin this relationship if I don’t get over it fast.

We’re perfect for eachother, her, I, and MANY others believe. She’s extremely intelligent like myself, plays music, and lots lots more, exactly like me. We both do Maths, Physics and Further Maths in College. She’s perfect.

I need to get over this Jealously. How can I come about this? Please help. Thanks.

Linda asks…

How can I get over my girlfriends past sex life?

I have been with this girl for a little over a year now. We met in our first year of college. We are both 19 years old now. Ever since we met things have been perfect. This girl is just about everything I want. She is smart, funny, trustworthy, loyal, a hard worker, a huge laker fan(like me) and on top of all that she is very attractive. I just cant seem to get over the fact that she had sex before we met. One day in casual conversation, we discussed the number of partners each of us had. Sometimes her past gets to me and sometimes I just dismiss it as normal for people our age. I will not say how many guys she has been with because I think that should remain between us, but I will say that you can count her number of partners on one hand. I have never been involved with a girl that was a virgin before(hell i never even met a girl that was a virgin). And out of all the girls that I have been with, it never bothered me that they had sex with other guys. It only bothers me with the girl I am involved with now. I know that the chances of meeting someone without a past is very slim. And I’m sure that things wouldn’t be different if I was involved with someone else instead of her. Its not fair for me to bring this problem in our relationship. I am really struggling with this. Im not jealous or anything, I just wish that I was her only one. Im confident that she wouldn’t cheat so it doesnt have anything to do with that. And im not worried about anyone else being better than me or whatever. Any advice would be much appreciated. Oh yea, and DONT PULL ANY PUNCHES with your answers. But please be respectful. Thank You

Stop Being Jealous answers:

Look seriously you have to stop looking at the past, especially the past of your girlfriend. What matters is she is with you now….you are the present. If you keep on thinking like this and allow her past which you can not turn back the hands of time to conflict with the now…then really you could jeopardize things and may turn into a past as well.

You should not let things like that turn into an insecurity you have and make you feel away or weary. Just be happy with the fact she is in your arms, enjoy her whilst you can and enjoy the experiences you share together. Try to increase the good times you share and appreciate her. When you appreciate a person and make them feel loved, it is guaranteed things should work out successfully. Seriously you got to be strong and confident in yourself, believe in yourself and her…cherish what you got not look for things that are going to bother you.

Look when you feel strongly for someone, everyone likes to feel that they were the first, only and will remain their only one. Now your duty is to make her stay your only one by not being possessive, obsessive and negative. But just enjoying the times you have and understanding what the concept of relationship requires both to do in order to make things worthwhile.

Mandy asks…

How do i get over my girlfriends past?

Me and my gf are happy together in almost every aspect. only, i cant get over her sexual past. shes had sex 3 times(2 times with one guy, 1 time with the other) before me all on hookups, and even though she regrets and has learned from it, it still drives me crazy. weve discussed it many times before but it seems nothing can help how i feel. shes only 15 and that makes it even worse, especially since i was a virgin before her. ive given it so much though, and i know i lvoe her and shouldnt be feeling this way, but i cant deny the way i feel, no matter how unjustified, i just wanna be able to A)not think bout it constantly, and B) not make me feel jealous, insecure, less attractive, less experienced, etc. Basically im at the point where i have a hard time even accepting it, i just want it out of my head and when it comes to my head on occasion, to not have it hurt me so much.
and a semi-important detail i forgot: the other two guys are “cool kids” i guess, not that i care about my rep or anything but it bothers me for some reason, she used to hang out with all the “cool kids” of our town, she hangs with me and all my friends now, but still, like since they got with her on a hook up and i actually had to go out with her just contributes to making me feel shitty-ishhh :/

Stop Being Jealous answers:

You need to get over it! Seriously grow up. She wasn’t dating you when she was with them right? And she is with you now- not them so she obviously chose to be with you. You sound really immature and like you should not be in a relationship/let alone a sexual one. That is part of being a grown up. Everyone you date for the rest of your life will have a past- that is what makes people who they are. You look like a petty little boy by acting jealous over soemthing that happened before you were together! And it sounds like she has matured enough to hang out with who she wants to and make her own decisions. For your own sake and for hers, bury it and use all that pent up energy/jealousy towards something positive. Like donating your time to charity or running a marathon or something more productive. It sounds very young and immature to me.

How To Control Sexual Jealousy

Expand the description and view the text of the steps for this how-to video.

Check out Howcast for other do-it-yourself videos from Milkhouse and more videos in the General Dating category.

You can contribute too! Create your own DIY guide at http://www.howcast.com/videos/new or produce your own Howcast spots with the Howcast Filmmakers Program at http://www.howcast.com/filmmakers/apply.

With a little self-awareness, you can learn to tame your green-eyed monster.

To complete this How-To you will need:

An honest assessment of your relationship
The courage to change things
Visualization

Step 1: Realize jealousy is normal

Realize that some jealousy in a relationship is perfectly normal. It only becomes destructive when it is an ongoing point of contention.

Step 2: Assess your relationship

Figure out the driving force behind your jealousy. Are you afraid you might lose your partner to someone else? Or are you angry at being disrespected when they flirt with others?

Step 3: Figure out the real problem

If fear of losing your partner is the problem, ask yourself if you’re insecure because you have low self-esteem, or because you feel your partner is not as committed to the relationship as you are.

Tip: If your partner is a flirt, consider that this simply may be their nature. The tipoff? They flirt with everyone — young, old, skinny, fat, attractive, and homely.

Step 4: Work on yourself

If low self-esteem is the problem, work on building yours by using self-help books or working with a therapist.

Tip: Try this visualization technique: The next time you’re feeling jealous, therapists recommend conjuring up a pleasant scene in your mind or recall a happy memory.

Step 5: Reevaluate your relationship

If you come to the conclusion that your anger and jealousy are well founded and rooted in your partner’s disrespect and possible philandering, consider ending your relationship. You deserve a partner that makes you feel loved and treasured, not angry and mistrustful.

Question for all the guys do you get Mad or jealous if your girlfriend has alot of Male friends??

My Girlfriend Has alot of guy friends, more guy friends then Girlfriends actually, and to be honest I kinda don’t like it. I sometimes get Jealous or insecure about the matter or sometimes thoughts come in my head that probably shouldn’t, I was wondering is it natural to get mad and feel a little jealousy about that, and if it isn’t what can I do to stop feeling this way and stop with these thoughts?

ok let me give u my opinion as a girl who has a lot of male friends. the thing is you have nothing to worry about. i hang around with guys not because i like the attention or because they’re flirty, but because they are so much better than female friends. women are mean and judgmental. i can always count on my friends… they don’t gossip about me, don’t tell fake rumors (like some female friends did). and besides… they can kick serious a*s if somebody hurts me :P
nut think about this: there is a reason why she’s ur gf and not theirs. so don t be jealous cause you have no ground and it will make her angry. love her and be happy :D

How do I stop? Jealousy Issues…?

I’m 12 and there is a girl I really like. Like really like. I would say love but people don’t think I can hold commitment. I would do just about anything for her and how do I get her to notice that I would do anything? I’m with her every class of school. Please don’t say you’re too young and whatever because inside I’m not. Also whenever I see her with another guy I get immensely jealous. She seems to have a glow to her and I usually only notice that there is a guy. It doesn’t matter which guy. How can I stop the jealousy and show her I’d do anything for her? Just to give more info, I have her cell number and we live pretty close together if that matters. Thanks in advance.

Hah! You have her cell number and you live pretty close together and you two are classmates in every class? You have all the chances to get her to notice you. Text her, or ask her to walk her home since it’s only same way. Or like for every exams or projects in your class, ask her how was it or before exams, give her encouragement. You can also compliment her like hey, you look awesome today or I like your hair. About jealousy issue, tell and remind yourself always that you don’t have any right to feel jealous whenever you see her with other guys because she’s not your girlfriend. If you are jealous, make a move to go and talk to her like any other guys.
