Extremely low self esteem and family aren’t making it better…?

I totally know I shouldnt care about body image when im 13 years old but I can’t help it…i look around me at school and all i see are skinny skinny skinny! And they are all stuffing themselves with pizza, chocolate and crisps…
I eat pretty healthy, and I get atleast 20-30 mins cardio a day but I feel like a jelly bag when I see myself in the mirror.
I used to think that my waist was small but now im not sure.
And also I’ve got saddlebags and big thighs!! My mum is the same shape as me and shes constantly insulting it!!! That really knocks my self esteem!!

I feel so jealous of people like salma hayek with miniscule waists and big boobs even after childbirth when shes 40!!!!
I feel way bigger than my friends….

bust: 36"
waist: 26.5-27"
hips (around saddlebags): 37-38"

:’-(

whats ur opinion…….

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty isn’t all about skinny and slim waists and big boobs :) Plus you’re growing, you’re still 13. It is probably just a phase. If you just continue to eat healthy, you’ll be in good shape.

Also, if you start to look at yourself in a better light and not think of yourself as a "jelly bag" and look in that mirror and think positively and love your body, I guarentee that you will be happier. It’s all in the way you look at yourself. It’s very important for your self esteem.

Have some confidence!

You’re forming good habits by eating healthy and working out. Truth of the matter is, everyone is built differently and some people are naturally skinny and some people have to work hard at it. However, I’m sure you’re a much more beautiful person on the inside than those around you and when these "skinnys" get older their eating habits are going to catch up to them. You will surpass them. Just keep shooting for your goals and don’t give up. Watch, when you’re older you will be a knockout and all the people you used to be jealous of will have beer bellies and wrinkles.

    God…
You’re just putting yourself down too you know.
Next time ANYONE mentions anything about your appearance you feel uncomfortable about go directly to a mirror. Find something you do like (eyes, nose, mouth…whatever…) and maybe enhance it in a way that makes you feel like you are distracting from your insecurities.
The important thing is how you feel about yourself, don’t listen to anyone who has negative things to say. And trust me…Those kids won’t keep their metabolism forever. One day they will be the size of whales…

well they could have a high metabolism… but if they keep on eating only junk food as what it says above, its going to catch up with them if they dont be careful! if your mom is the same way as you it could be genetic!

At that age everybody is at a different level with their body. When I was 13, I was bigger overall and anyone else, so I know how you are feeling! Keep up your routine and in a few years you will get a better idea of how everyone shapes out! I also know it can be hard to listen to criticism from your family. My mother still gives me a hard time! They just want the best for their children even though it doesn’t always come out that way! If you want to try to tone some of your muscles, change your routine. If you get exercise, but it’s the same every day, it isn’t very effective. Find a couple other routines you like!

don’t be jealous of any of these movie stars, remember they have personal gyms, cooks, not to mention plastic surgeons..and if your family isn’t supportive talk to a school counselor asap! you should be made to feel bad about yourself, you have great measurements!

Sweetie – you can e-mail me if you want to. I would gladly be your web friend because basically we are one in the same. I am 20 – granted – but I have been my size since I was about 13. 36/25/39 when before I had my son and 36/29/41 now. DO NOT WORRY!!!! Everyone has more than one thing they absolutely losthe about themselves. Celebs have personal chefs / physical trainers to keep them how THEY want to be. You are doing a helluva job with eating and exercise to keep YOU healthy. Keep doing that – you do not have to look like your friends or celebs!!! Just think about this: My aunt used to be skinnier, smaller, and more petite than my mom. She used to talk about my mother’s weight 24/7. That was maybe 20 – 30 years ago when they were in their late teens to early 20s (high school and college). As of 10 years ago to today, MY AUNT is now the one with a tire around her waist, big thighs, and chunky face (as you can see, I don’t care for her either – she does the same to me today!!!)! You will NEVER be just like any one else. Sometimes I wish I were a little smaller, but that’s because I want to change for ME. I never wanted to be smaller because of other people – I actually like my curves! Embrace yourself – you are one of a kind. And just keep up the exercise (not too much at a time – 30 min a day 3-4 times a week is good even for someone my age) and eating right. You’ll be glad in 10 years. All your friends will STILL be pigging out and you’ll be FABULOUS!!!

Stop looking in the mirror. My wife weighted 107 when I met her and she put 80 pds and I love her more today than yesterday. We’ve been married 35 years. If a guy doesn’t like your looks, so what? Change what you can change and what you can’t live with it. Oh, I also put on 110 pounds and it doesn’t bother me at all.

Trust me. You have a nice shape. You may see all the skinny models/actresses on tv but the truth is guys love curves! Be happy about the way you look!

I know what you mean about your mom though, my mom is bigger than me and always makes comments about how I should lose weight or whatever. I wish she would look in the mirror and focus on herself!
